NEW RIDER COURSE
Learn how to operate a motorcycle in a safe and structured environment under the direction of professional instructors who emphasize five global skills:
steering and balance
speed control
observation
space margins
communication
This course prepares you for the final Class 6 road test, and includes the Motorcycle Skills Assessment. Motorcycles and helmets are supplied.
Our 30 hour course will get you riding quickly. It begins with two evening theory sessions on everything from selecting motorcycles and riding gear to traffic strategies. Following that, there are two Riding Skills sessions that progress from the basics of balance, steering, turning, and changing gears to advanced steering and sudden braking. At the conclusion of the second session, we administer the ICBC certified Motorcycle Skills Assessment. The final two days focus on Traffic Skills to prepare you for the Okanagan traffic environment and the ICBC Class 6 road test.
Before you start the course, you must have your Class 6 or 8 learner's permit. This can be accomplished at any ICBC Access Centre after studying "RoadSense For Riders." You will also need to collect riding gear that meets our minimum standards for rider safety. This includes: leather boots that cover the ankle, long pants and long sleeved jacket, and gloves with leather palms. You may supply your own helmet, or use one of ours at no extra cost.
Courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For information on our standards for student riding gear give us a call at our office (250-764-7075) or email us at v-twinokanagan@shaw.ca.
The cost of our course is $699.00 plus HST. This includes the use of our bikes, delivery of the ICBC Motorcycle Skills Assessment and use of a helmet if required. If you take your road test in Kelowna or Vernon, we will also supply the bike at no extra charge.
Come on out and enjoy the ride!
Learn to ride in the sunny Okanagan, and be well prepared for the ICBC Class 6 road test.
